The PVC foam board has many advantages, and it is regarded as the most potential “replacement of traditional wood material” abroad. The performance of the product is also different according to the different application places. For example, “home improvement PVC board” pays more attention to safety and environmental protection performance, comfort performance and special environmental performance, while “commercial PVC board” pays more attention to durability, economic performance, cleaning and maintenance performance. There are three misunderstandings in people’s common understanding of PVC foam board:
1. Flame retardant is not “not burning”;
Some people need to use a lighter to burn the PVC foam board to see if it can be burnt. This is a common misunderstanding. The state requires that the fire rating of PVC foam board meet the Bf1-t0 standard. According to the national standard, non-combustible materials are classified as fireproof A, such as stone, tile, etc. The technical content of the Bf1-t0 flame retardant standard is a cotton ball with a diameter of 10 mm, dipped in alcohol, and placed on the PVC floor to burn naturally. After the cotton ball is burned out, measure the diameter of the burnt PVC floor trace, if less than 50mm is the Bf1-t0 flame retardant standard.
2. Not being environmentally friendly is not relying on “sniffing”;
The PVC material itself does not contain formaldehyde, and it is not allowed to use formaldehyde in the production process of PVC flooring. Some advanced PVC foam boards will use new calcium carbonate raw materials. It will cause harm to people’s body without making people feel uncomfortable. It will disperse after being ventilated for a period of time.
3. “Abrasion resistance” is not “not scratched with a sharp tool”;
When some people asked about the service life and abrasion resistance of PVC foam board, they took out sharp tools such as a knife or key and scratched the surface of the PVC floor. If there are scratches, they think it is not abrasion resistant. In fact, the national test for the abrasion resistance of PVC flooring is not simply scratched on the surface with a sharp tool, but is specifically determined by the national testing agency.
